Talk 1:
Save Cash and Carbon – with Graham Zabel, Head of DevOps Devoteam

Session Abstract: Too often, enterprise scale business leaders are misled into thinking that their rising cloud costs can be solved using only the standard FinOps practices. These techniques are a great starting point, however they generally only focus on directly affecting the spend items showing up in the billing, leaving all the indirect causes unaddressed. This creates a situation where businesses think they are solving their Cloud spend problem, when in reality the biggest problems have not been measured or addressed.

Talk 2:

Adopt or Pass? Real-World Learnings from Adopting Crossplane – Gabriel Cismondi

In the world of infrastructure as code, Crossplane has emerged as a name synonymous with innovation and potential. The buzz surrounding it isn’t unfounded, but as with every other technology it has strengths and weaknesses. Gabriel will talk through the lessons learned from adopting Crossplane, the challenges it solves, what excites him and what doesn’t.

Gabriel is a senior engineer, focusing on the cloud and DevOps / platform space for the last ten years, and currently works as a senior platform engineer @ JPMorgan. In addition to being passionate about all the tech and tools in the cloud/platform space, he loves solving “people” challenges and help creating high-performing teams and organizations.
